Thriving Organizations

Thriving Organizations Are Only Possible When People Are Thriving.

What defines a thriving organization? At its core, it begins and ends with thriving people: people working together toward a shared goal, unified by relationships of empathy, respect, trust, and mutual commitment.

But those thriving people are a product of the context in which they work. That context is crucial. Like fertile soil, it provides the life-giving nutrients needed for people to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. In turn, those thriving people strengthen each other and replenish the context, creating a vibrant ecosystem of activity—a thriving organization.

The key is leadership. A thriving organization is the second hallmark of effective leadership – the first is thriving people. And as much as it is leadership that helps people thrive, it is also leadership that ensures individual and collective success reinforce each other, and where leadership creates the conditions for both the people and the organization to reach their highest potential.

When this kind of leadership permeates the entire organization and emerges in every corner of every unit in the organization, we know that it is because people are thriving.

Innovation flourishes. Engagement is strengthened. And, as a result, the organization will thrive too.
