Thriving People
Activating the Soul, Heart, and Mind of Leadership
A thriving human being is a powerful force – and we need thriving humans, now more than ever.

Can you think of a time in your life when you felt a deep sense of connection or belonging? When you felt inspired – truly growing and learning in the work you were doing? Energized – physically and emotionally? Or maybe you’ve had an experience where you felt like your voice mattered – you were contributing, creatively leveraging your talents and capabilities.

Feelings like these are what it means to thrive – to feel a connection, a sense of belonging, inspiration, growth, vitality, and the empowerment that comes from making creative contributions that are valued.

Sadly, too many of us aren’t experiencing this in our lives – and, for the most part, most of the research and data show that we not only aren’t experiencing these feelings at work, but work is damaging our ability to feel this way in our lives outside of work.
Human beings are meant to thrive. And we deserve to thrive in all aspects of our lives – especially in our vocational pursuits.

We believe that the primary objective of leadership is helping people thrive in their work and their lives. Unfortunately, however, while it certainly isn’t ignored, in practice it is secondary – at best – to performance or other outcomes. This is power over in action, and it has had the effect of dehumanizing how we talk about, recognize, and reward the work of leadership.

In Leading Through, we use the metaphors of Soul, Heart, and Mind to speak directly to this phenomenon, because at the core of the reinvention of leadership, we need thriving human beings.

Thriving people – soul, heart and mind.
