The Leading Through Institute began as a family project. As we poured our research and studies into Leading Through: Activating the Soul, Heart and Mind of Leadership, our work sparked meaningful dinner table conversations and discussions at family gatherings.

These discussions brought The Leading Through Institute to life.

Throughout our journey, we've been driven by a fundamental question: how can we help people and organizations thrive despite the constant disruption, change and uncertainty we're experiencing?

Reinventing Leadership

We knew instinctively this was the answer, but we also knew it needed to be different. Through our collective experiences - whether leading organizations through major transitions, guiding teams through complex challenges, or studying and teaching leadership across various sectors - we've witnessed how the dominant "power-over" paradigm of leading casts long shadows in organizations, dimming the human spirit, stifling innovation, and constraining growth.

We need a new paradigm, a fundamental shift in understanding and practicing leadership.

This new paradigm, Leading Through, is all the more crucial as AI reshapes our world. In an AI-powered world, the "power-over" paradigm becomes not just limiting, but dangerous - benefiting the few over the many, another tool to exert control rather than catalyzing human flourishing.

Leading Through means innovating in ways we never thought possible to execute more effectively and achieve our boldest aspirations. To make Leading Through a reality, we need a fundamental reinvention - and in some cases, a revolution - of what leadership represents: unleashing human potential in ways we haven't experienced before.
